Discover Your Inner Fire

With the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Leo this month, the emphasis is on finding an outlet for your creativity. Leo energy enables us to tap into the fool archetype, which symbolizes unrestrained and joyful expression (fire). As you allow the fool archetype to surface, you will experience more joy in your life.

Mars—representing where we assert our will—travels through the detail-oriented sign of Virgo from 7/1–8/19, focusing our will on taking care of daily routines. Where can we be more efficient in our lives? How can we be more organized and attend to the details of daily living? With Mars in Virgo we can streamline, prioritize and organize our lives so that we can have the time to dedicate our energies to what’s really important.

As the new Moon at 11º Cancer begins its cycle on 7/2 (7:20 p.m.), the focus is on discovering your needs for nurturing. Most of us are better at nurturing others, but this month it’s about “nurturing the nurturer.” Is it hard for you to ask for help? If so, it’s time to open yourself to the nurturing that’s always around you.

Mercury in Cancer 7/10–26 supports you in speaking honestly about your feelings. Emotionally centered folks: use the discriminative qualities of your mind to clarify what you are feeling. Intellectually centered folks: go with your emotional promptings despite your mind’s objections or analysis.

Mars in Virgo conjunct Saturn in Virgo 7/8–12 asks you to learn how to manifest strong will without attachment to the results. In other words, you are being challenged to let go of control (Saturn) of how you think things should turn out.

With Venus in Leo 7/12–8/6, you can reinvent your values so that they are rooted in your own unique experience. By sharing your values with other like-minded souls, you have the opportunity to let down your guard so that you can be truly received and appreciated for who you are.

The full Moon occurs at 24º Capricorn on 7/18 at 1:00 a.m. heightening our desire for security and helping us tune into our natural self-reliance. Take whatever steps are necessary so you are secure in the knowledge that you are approaching life with a pragmatic and realistic focus.

As the Sun moves into the sign of Leo on 7/22 at 3:55 a.m., it’s time to tap into your inner fire. The Leo principle relates to the expression of one’s creative energies. Our job in Leo is to tap into the creative spirit of the divine child within. Be the role model for others of someone who allows their creative energy to flow outwards into fruition.

Mercury in Leo 7/26–8/10 emphasizes using the imaginative and playful aspects of the mind to create your own reality. By using the power of imagination and play, we free the mind to generate new possibilities that far exceed the dualistic “this or that” mentality of the concrete mind.

With the full Moon at 6º Aquarius on 7/29 at 5:48 p.m., you are learning how to be emotionally present to others while maintaining your individuality and center. The Aquarius full moon also heightens your desire to find the “tribe” or community that supports and nourishes your vision.

It’s time to “seize the day” as your will is strong and aligned with your purpose. Acting on your creative impulses is a good thing now. Just remember to maintain balance between feeling and thinking.

Taurus 4/21–5/21
Your desire to disseminate helpful info to others is heightened this month. Looking for a cause to put your words behind? It might be the perfect outlet for combining your knowledge with action.

Gemini 5/22–6/20
What a great time to open and express your heart! A new emotional freedom and expressiveness is emerging. Allow your heart and mind to work together to create a deeper level of guidance.

Balance in all areas of life is important now. You might find your thoughts focused on fairness, equality and justice. Look to see where you are losing energy by doing more than your share.

Scorpio 10/22–11/21
You have a lot of energy and enthusiasm available for clearly articulating your core values and long-range goals. Take some time out from the outer world so that you can tune into a larger sense of purpose.

Sagittarius 11/22–12/20

Are you in touch with your need for alone time? Try to plan this into your schedule so you can rest and re-coup. Getting “away from it all” is the perfect solution for self-renewal and will rest your mind.

Pisces 2/19–3/20
Are you feeling the need to expand your mind? If so, then it’s time to participate in activities that broaden your perspective. Reading, studying or meditating will get you closer to the truth.
